Best practices for low-latency REST API lookup integrations.

Programmatic real-time checkups are vital for CPaaS integration suites. However, running sequential HTTP requests during user workflows can add latency. Here are critical best practices for optimizing API lookups.

1. Use Hashed Tokens

Always verify authorization tokens securely. Store token hashes in the database and authenticate requests using bearer header middleware layers to protect client workspaces.

2. Implement Rate Limits

Restrict API requests to 60 queries per minute per workspace to avoid carrier gateway lockups. Batch lookup jobs into queued background workers whenever processing large sets.
